Get to know me!
The name is Kevin Carter and I'm a Software Engineer located in Atlanta. I started in retail where I constantly interacted with POS systems and internal tools that were slow, unreliable, and often disrupted the customer experience. That sparked my curiosity about how those systems were built, which led me to start learning software engineering and eventually specialize in JavaScript, React, Node, and PostgreSQL.
Over time I moved from learning to building real applications, including a production enrollment and Programmatic Optimization System for a childcare organization that handles operational workflows and data management.
Through that work I gained experience designing APIs, working with relational databases, and shipping production features. I'm now excited to join a product team where I can collaborate with other engineers and continue building software that people rely on every day.
